Early spring and the oilseed rape the farmer
planted last year has over wintered and the results can now be seen - the vivid
yellow of the blooms complementing the green of the rolling hills of the South Downs. Rapeseed has been cultivated for at least four thousand years and is known as a 'break crop' grown to improve the yield of the following cereal crop.
This print looks stunning on its own, or
could be displayed along with Straw Field,
that deplicts the same scene in the late summer.
